In late 2013 we purchased a vacant piece of ex-roading land in historic Thorndon, Wellington's oldest suburb.

We love the capital. We both grew up here, but our lives took us away. Now we've returned, and we have built a home in our favourite city.

It is a huge challenge to construct a new house. There are many decisions to be made, and you inevitably need to put your trust in others.

This website documents our journey, the choices we made, and the suppliers and products that have helped us to achieve our goal. We hope this site will help you in making choices too.

In 2020 the house won an Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ) national award for residential new homes between 150m² and 300m².
